About the event
Williwaw Lakes Backpacking Adventure 🏕️⛰️
Join TrailMates for an unforgettable overnight backpacking trip through the beautiful Williwaw Lakes Trail in Chugach State Park.
This two-day adventure will take us through alpine valleys, mountain scenery, lakes, and rugged backcountry terrain as we explore one of Southcentral Alaska's most scenic backpacking routes. We'll be tackling the route in reverse from the direction shown on AllTrails, which allows for a more gradual elevation profile and a more enjoyable backpacking experience. Our plan is to hike into the backcountry on July 17, set up camp near the lakes, and spend plenty of time exploring the area, relaxing, taking photos, and enjoying the scenery before hiking back out on July 18.
This trip is designed for hikers who are comfortable carrying overnight gear and spending a night in the backcountry.
