This local favorite is known for its lush forest paths, rushing creeks, and stunning views of the surrounding Chugach Mountains. We’ll be hiking 8.4 miles round trip with about 1,292 ft of elevation gain—a steady, moderate climb that rewards you with serene forest vibes and glimpses of alpine beauty.
Whether you’re looking to stretch your legs, meet new hiking friends, or just breathe in some crisp mountain air, this hike is for you. The trail is well-maintained and perfect for both newer hikers ready for a challenge and experienced adventurers looking for a social, scenic trek.

🌿 What to Bring:Layered clothing, water, snacks, trekking poles (optional), and sturdy hiking shoes or boots. Depending on conditions, microspikes may be helpful if there’s early frost or ice on shaded sections.
🐾 Trail Notes:The path weaves through lush rainforest terrain, crosses gentle streams, and opens up to stunning views near the turnaround point. This trail is dog-friendly (leash required) and suitable for older kids or teens comfortable with the distance.
📍 Meeting Point:We’ll meet at the 5K parking lot by the Alyeska Hotel. Please plan to arrive a few minutes early so we can start together at 11:00 AM sharp.
