About the event

South Fork Eagle River Trail to the Bridge ❄️🥾

Join TrailMates for a late fall/early winter hike along the beautiful South Fork Eagle River Trail! As Alaska transitions into winter, we'll enjoy snow-dusted trees, mountain views, crisp air, and a chance to get outside with some good company.

This scenic trail follows the river corridor through the forest, making it a great option for anyone looking to enjoy the changing season without tackling a big mountain climb.

Our destination is the bridge, approximately 4.2 miles round trip with gentle to moderate elevation gain. Depending on trail conditions and how the group is feeling, we may continue another half mile beyond the bridge before turning around.

This is a great hike for beginners, families, and anyone wanting a more relaxed day outside. Four-legged hiking buddies are welcome, too, as long as they're well-behaved and under control.

A quick note about conditions: Trails can be snowy, icy, or slippery this time of year. We recommend bringing microspikes or other appropriate traction, warm layers, and footwear suited for winter conditions.
