Looking for a high-alpine challenge with serious payoff? Join TrailMates for a bold and beautiful trek to Snowbird Mine, tucked deep in Glacier Pass. This trail is a 4.6-mile out-and-back with 1,692 feet of elevation gain, offering a steep and scenic climb through rugged Hatcher Pass terrain.
Expect alpine tundra, sweeping mountain views, and a glimpse into Alaska’s mining history. The trail is rated hard due to elevation and rocky sections, but with TrailMates, we hike together, support one another, and go at a pace that honors the group.
🧭 Trail Highlights:
Glacial valley views and stunning ridgelines
Historical mine ruins at the turnaround point
Crisp air, quiet trail, and wild beauty

Sturdy hiking shoes or boots with good tread
2+ liters of water
Lunch/snacks
Weather-appropriate layers (expect wind and sudden temperature shifts)

🐾 Well-behaved dogs are welcome but must be leashed.
