Join us for a leg-burner with big views as we take on the Peak 2 + Peak 3 Loop, starting from the Sunnyside Flattop Trailhead! 🥾 This 3.4-mile loop near Anchorage features steep, rewarding climbs with panoramic views of the Chugach range, Cook Inlet, and more.

📍 Trailhead: Sunnyside Flattop Trail (Canyon Road)
📏 Distance: 3.4-mile loop
⏱️ Duration: Approx. 3.5 hrs
📈 Elevation Gain: 2,181 ft
⚠️ Difficulty: Challenging
🐶 Dogs: Welcome, but must be on leash

Expect a steep and scenic journey on well-maintained trails with some rocky, technical sections. This hike is best suited for those with some trail experience and a good pair of trekking shoes. Weather can change quickly—bring layers and check conditions before you head out. We’ll be heading from Peak 2 to Peak 3, but may adjust our route depending on trail conditions.
What to Bring:
Microspikes (just in case of lingering ice)
Warm layers and wind protection
Water & snacks
Trekking poles recommended for stability on steep sections
🅿️ Parking Info: Chugach State Park charges a $5 day-use fee. Kiosks are available at the trailhead. You can also purchase an annual Alaska State Parks parking pass online
Meet us at the trailhead by 1 PM and look for familiar Elevated faces!
