🏞 About This Hike

Join TrailMates for an afternoon adventure up Mount Baldy — one of Eagle River’s most beloved peaks! This trail packs a punch with steady climbs, but the reward is worth it: sweeping views over Eagle River Valley, the Chugach Range, and on a clear day, even Denali in the distance.

It’s a shorter trail with a good workout, making it perfect for those wanting to challenge themselves without committing to a full-day trek. Expect rocky sections, a bit of scrambling near the top, and big payoff views.

🎒 What to Bring

  • Sturdy hiking boots with good grip (trail can be loose and rocky)

  • Trekking poles (helpful for the descent)

  • 2 liters of water

  • Snacks or a light packed lunch

  • Wind/rain layers — it can get breezy at the summit

  • Hat, gloves, and sunscreen

👥 Hike Leader & Parking Info

  • Leader: Tina Powers

  • Parking: Mount Baldy Trailhead (parking fee required — bring cash or pass). Carpooling encouraged.
