Meet at 11:45 AM at the Eklutna Lake turnoff (carpool required)


Honor the meaning of Memorial Day with a powerful community hike to POW/MIA Peak in Eklutna. This steep, challenging trail climbs 2,988 ft in just 4.3 miles round-trip and rewards your effort with unforgettable views and a touching memorial to those who were Prisoners of War or Missing in Action. 🏔️


You'll pass Gold Star Peak along the ridge—home to another memorial—and continue on to reach the true summit of POW/MIA Peak, where a flag waves proudly over views of Twin Peaks and the valley below.


🗺️ Trail Details:

  • Distance: 4.3 miles

  • Elevation Gain: 2,988 ft

  • Difficulty: Challenging

  • Duration: ~4.5 hours

  • Out & back trail


⚠️ Important Notes:

  • We must carpool! There is no parking at the trailhead, so we’ll meet at 11:45 AM at the Eklutna Lake turnoff to coordinate rides.


🐾 Dogs allowed on leash.


🥾 Led by Tina Powers and Bryan Dillenbeck. This will be Bryan’s last hike with us before moving out of state—let’s make it a meaningful send-off!
