About the Hike

Who's ready to check out some new trail? 🥾 Join TrailMates for a full day exploring the newly built trail on the Powerline Pass side of Indian Valley! We'll start at the Indian Valley Trailhead and follow the new trail through the valley, with the goal of reaching Indian Pass. Along the way, we'll get to check out the new route, enjoy the surrounding mountain scenery, and spend a good chunk of our Saturday outside.

Once we reach Indian Pass, we'll turn around and follow the same trail back to the trailhead.

This is a longer hike with nearly 3,000 feet of elevation gain, so come prepared for a solid day on your feet!

Pace & Trail Expectations

We'll aim to maintain an average hiking pace and keep the group together as much as possible.

Slower hikers are welcome, but please be aware that you may need to complete portions of the route independently if you cannot maintain the group's pace. Participants should be comfortable navigating and managing their own return if separated.

With shorter daylight hours and the possibility of snow or ice, it's important to come prepared and choose a hike that matches your current fitness and experience.

What to Bring

  • Bear spray - highly recommended

  • Microspikes or traction devices - highly recommended

  • Headlamp - highly recommended, especially with limited daylight

  • Warm layers and weather-appropriate clothing

  • Hiking boots or appropriate trail footwear

  • Plenty of water, food, and snacks

  • Navigation tools or an offline trail map

Additional Notes

  • This is an approximately 12-mile out-and-back hike.

  • Plan for around 6 hours on the trail, depending on conditions and group pace.

  • Snow, ice, weather, and daylight may affect the route or turnaround point.

  • Please arrive before 10:00 AM so the group can start on time.
