Join us for a challenging and rewarding adventure up Harp Mountain, one of Eagle River’s most scenic ridge hikes! This 3.2-mile out-and-back trail climbs 2,600 feet and offers panoramic views of South Eagle River, the Chugach Range, and—on a clear day—distant peaks like Denali and Foraker.

Join us for a challenging and rewarding adventure up Harp Mountain, one of Eagle River’s most scenic ridge hikes! This 3.2-mile out-and-back trail climbs 2,600 feet and offers panoramic views of South Eagle River, the Chugach Range, and—on a clear day—distant peaks like Denali and Foraker.


Trail Details:

  • 🥾 Distance: 3.2 miles round trip

  • ⛰️ Elevation Gain: 2,600 ft

  • ⚠️ Difficulty: Challenging

  • ⏱️ Duration: Approx. 3.5 hours

  • 🐕 Dogs allowed on leash


The trail begins above the tree line and quickly gains elevation, transitioning into a steep ascent with a rocky scramble to reach the summit. Expect epic views of the Hiland and Eagle River valleys and a serious sense of accomplishment at the top.


What to Bring:

  • Sturdy hiking shoes or boots

  • Trekking poles (recommended)

  • Layers and wind protection

  • Water and snacks

  • Microspikes if snow remains on the ridge
