Join us for an epic summer kickoff hike to Eska Falls, a breathtaking out-and-back trail that leads to stunning views, rushing waterfalls, and wild, open landscapes. Led by community member Leo Overduyn, this hike is for those ready to take on a challenge and soak in Alaska’s wild beauty along the way. 🏞️✨


Trail Details:

  • Distance: 9.9 miles

  • Elevation Gain: 2,339 ft

  • Duration: Approx. 5 hours

  • Route Type: Out & back

  • Difficulty: Challenging


This hike features steep sections, loose terrain, and water crossings—so be prepared to get muddy and feel accomplished. You’ll climb through lush valleys, over rocky paths, and eventually reach the incredible Eska Falls.


What to Bring:

  • Sturdy hiking boots or trail shoes (waterproof recommended)

  • Trekking poles for stability

  • Plenty of water & snacks

  • Bug spray and sunscreen

  • Layers – weather can shift quickly!

  • Optional: Microspikes if snow remains at higher elevations


This is a great hike if you're looking to push yourself and connect with others who crave remote beauty and big trail energy.
