Join TrailMates for a bold and breathtaking adventure to the Blackstone Bay Overlook, where glaciers, fjords, and big mountain energy are the reward for a solid climb. This out-and-back trail is 5.7 miles with a challenging 2,719 feet of elevation gain, making it a challenging route for any hikers who are ready to WORK for the views.

We’ll move together, take breaks as needed, and enjoy the journey as much as the final lookout over Blackstone Bay. This hike is all about strength, grit, and connection — and soaking up one of the most incredible panoramas Prince William Sound has to offer.

🎒 What to Bring:

  • Supportive hiking shoes/boots

  • Poles (recommended for the steep grades)

  • 2+ liters of water

  • Snacks or lunch

  • Layers + rain gear (coastal weather can change fast!)

  • Sunscreen, hat, bug spray

🚗 Parking + Start Info: Meet at the Whittier Tunnel parking area by 9:30 AM so we can make the 10:00 AM tunnel. Don’t be late — the tunnel is one-way and runs on a schedule.
